A Connecticut Wedding

 

This past weekend was no holiday for us, but fun nonetheless.  Dear friends Susie & Paul got married at the Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown, CT and who was there with the flowers?  WE were there with the flowers!  Just.In.Time.  What should have been a 3-hour drive was instead 4.5 hours.  Holiday weekend traffic is no joke, folks.  Anyway, we had flowers in all shades of yellow to complement royal blue linens and cream accents.  I have to say that the wedding came together beautifully.  The elegance of the Mansion and Susie’s choice of decor were perfectly matched.  That’s what I think, but you can decide for yourself:

 

The ceremony took place on the Great Lawn.  Susie’s uncle, Harry, should officiate every wedding.  He’s awesome.

The back patio, where cocktails took place.  We placed succulents in silver julep cups on the tables, but  none of the pictures are worthy of showing here.  Sorry.

One of the two dining rooms where guests dined.  Have you ever been served lemon sorbet between your salad and main course?  Try it.

Of course, we were seated at lucky table number 13.  Lucky indeed!

  4. The flowers were amazing. I loved the happy yellows. I have never seen such beautiful peonies. Lucky me, I got to bring a center piece home!

  5. Peicha is absolutely amazing! We are so lucky to have had such a brilliant florist for our wedding. All of our guests commented on how the flowers were the most beautiful that they have ever seen (even the staff at the Wadsworth). We could not have asked for more. :)
